My Echelon Stride-s keeps stopping, how do I fix this?

If you are having issues with 'Echelon keeps stopping' please follow the instructions below to update the app and Stride Firmware: 

  1. Power off the Stride-s
  2. Plug a USB keyboard into the USB port (Not the port next to the power input)
  3. Use a needle, paper clip, or SIM card remover to push into the small hole which has a button (see image below for location)
  4. Keep the paperclip, needle, or SIM card remover inserted
  5. Power on the unit
  6. The tablet will power up to the Android Recovery screen
  7. Once screen is powered up to the recovery screen, needle, paperclip, or SIM card remover can be removed
  8. Use the keyboard arrows to find 'Wipe Data/Factory Reset' from the menu
  9. Press Enter to select
  10. Once the data wipe/factory reset is complete, choose Reboot System Now.
  11. Upon reboot DO NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET
  12. Log into the mobile Echelon Fit app
  13. Open on the Me tab 
  14. Tap on the gear/cog icon in the top right
  15. Open My Equipment
  16. swipe left on Connect Bike, as in to delete it.
  17. Tap on the plus sign in the top right
  18. Add Echelon Stride
  19. Get back to the More page then tap on Firmware Update
  20. Tap on the 'Connect Device' button at the bottom
  21. Tap on the Stride-s serial number shown in the list
  22. Now tap Update Firmware
  23. After update equipment firmware completes make sure to close the Phone app and restart the Stride-s
